Mario Del Monaco (Florence, July 27, 1915 - Mestre, 16 October 1982) was an Italian tenor.

It is considered one of the most representative and popular tenors of the fifties and sixties.

He was born to a Neapolitan father, who played for some time the music critic in New York, and Florentine mother with Sicilian origins, he possessed a soprano voice, and he called: my first muse.
