Archaeological site of Peltuinum Aquila in Prata d'Ansidonia
Peltuinum is an ancient Italian town of Vestini, whose archaeological site is located in the municipality of Prata d'Ansidonia, in the province of L'Aquila, declared a national monument in 1902.

The Romans reconstructed it between the middle of the first century BC. and the first half of the following century.
In 787 there was the presence of a sculdascio, a long-serving Lombard official, in the curtis of Sant'Angelo in Peltino, as a proof of the settlement of Germanic aristocrats in the area.
In 887 the Court of Sant'Angelo is in possession of the Benedictine Monastery of Farfa.
Some remains of Peltuinum are the Augustan-era theater, walls, a temple perhaps dedicated to Apollo.
Alongside some of these remains there is the church of St. Paul of Peltuinum of the twelfth century.
