PATRON'S FESTIVAL IN VITERBO ROME LAZIO

The city of Viterbo is famous for the transport of the Macchina di Santa Rosa, traditional and spectacular event which takes place every year on the evening of 3 September, in honour of the Patron Saint: a 30-metre-high structure lit and weighing 52 kilos, is carried on shoulders by one hundred men, porters of Santa Rosa, unlit streets of the city.
In 2013 the machine has been listed by UNESCO intangible heritage of humanity.
